First off, I would just like to say thanks to those who replied to my "King Fish Tactics" post. Drifting a ribbon fish was the trick. We ended up landing 5 yesterday, the largest was 4 1/2 feet. I didn't have anything big enough to see how much it weighed, nor did I have a gaff.....which is a whole nother story :-). I will be better prepared next time!! Today on the other hand was a bit slower, the wind and rain rained picked up. I had a huge one break my line after about a 20 second run, he never ever turned around. We got one smaller one after that, then we loaded up the boat and took off.

We caught most off them a mile off the jetties. What do you look for off shore to catch them? I am a "Bass fisherman" and look for structure, main lake points etc...but out there it all looks the same. Any help would be great!! I look forward to going out there again !!'

Ron

I'd go out of Galveston or Freeport with a friend and just head for the blue water.

It sounds like you had a blast, don't forget the camera next time.
