Finally I made it out there boys and what is even better I have something to report. Got on the water by 630am. Released the boat at silver lake marina. The fisrt stop was the bubbles after about an hour we only came up with one green fish, tried slabs, tail spins, jigs and nothing. Well we decide to try go and find them elsewhere, so we shot across the lake and found them schooling behind the gaylord by the boat ramp over there. they stayed up close to an hour, tore em up on slabs, mostly unders but a couple filet sizes mixed in. I saw the luck of the irish guide over there. He seemed very unimpressed by the schooling sandies cause while we were franticly casting and retrieving he was eating a sandwich, I guess this wasn't his first rodeo. lol. Any who they died down and we tried to still get them to hit as we were still marking fish but we got no takers. So we checked back at the bubbles and still nothing doing so we decide to go look elsewhere again and we found them again, however there wasn't much there as far as landmarks and this my first trip on vine in like years so as to where we were I can not be of much help. We caught them again on slabs any where from 35 to 10ft of water. We kept 12 and throw back at least 20 each, Good trip and thanks for all the post on action out there.

That area over there by the Gaylord, depending on which side you are on can be fantabulous. I've had many a morning where I put the boat in the water at Katie's Woods and sat there in the cove catching surfacing sandbass in between boats launching for an hour or so. And around that main point that now has the restaraunt on it is good for surfacing fish at any time. I haven't been out for a while so I don't know what they've done to the tire break over there, but as you are looking at the marina, there is an underwater shelf (looks like a giant table on the side image) that is about 100 yards out from the marina on teh right hand side. The sandbass will push shad up to that shelf and then feed back along that bank and out on to that main point. Nice report jon.

Hey jon.G2 While having breakfast,I was thinking about coming by to mention or give you a couple of 2oz. slabs so you could get under the dinks for an easy limit of keepers but you looked like you were having a blast. Its always a pleasant surprise to get that limit and not have to turn on the outboard motor. Believe me, I was not unimpressed just hungry. Dont know what # rodeo, but your right, it wasn't my first.
