I have tied flies and i know how. I was wodering does any one know of great colors to make a flie out of for black bass?

Cant go wrong with chartreuse. Brown is good, nice and buggy.

Depending upon where you are white can be good, looks like a shad.

Man, I made a big mistake this evening...In an effort to be a kinder, gentler fisherman I squished down the barb on my popper hook...I have never lost so many fish in my life...that popper now resides in the bottom of my trash can, I could have understood one or two, maybe three...thats normal, but I must have lost 7 or 8 fish...needles to say I will not fish barbless hooks again for LMB...heres some pics of fish prior to my "brain fart".

Bummer. I cannot remember if I crushed the barb on the one popper I made. I'd better check. When I make some poppers, and not regular flies I will keep in mind what you said. I will not crush the barbs on poppers! Sorry to hear your popper ended up in the trash heap.
