Oh yeah, there was a tourney there. I wonder if that is what it's from. Couldn't be that though... I'm sure they properly disposed of all the fish seein as how it was a tournament and all...

They are supposed to take them to a rendering plant.

Entirely too much insensitivity to the poor bowfishers around here.

The urge to kill, not to grill, wins out again. Too bad... hammer

I'm sure the TPWD would love to know about all those catfish taken to the rendering plant.

Rules are for nothing and there is no moderation unless I'm the one getting censored! LMAO

I remember some good times at whitney. Would always go to old fort park and fish off the point. Camping out overnite was a blast there. I dont know what would hit my line, but I remember chashin my rod more than once. Would try and set up camp in the middle of the point, then usin cotten seed meal and bread for dough bait, would cast out as far as I could, then walk back to camp reelin off line as I went. Put a rock on the rod and wait. Wouldnt be long and the race was on, chasin my rod before it hit the water. Big buffs in that lake, caught some up to 20#'s but never did catch what was pullin my rod in the lake.

Old Fort park was always my favorite till the Corps iron pipe fenced it off. Did they ever take the pipe down?

I mean come on... the rule says...
"Please do NOT post bowfishing topics in this section. All such topics will be moved or deleted. "

Ok, so it's not a thread. but it's a topic that is obviously not wanted here.

Reported.

Why does it seem no one wants do do anything till it's out of control?

A. I don't believe the person was posting to get a rise out of the hard core rough fish anglers.

B. It gives people a good idea of what sort of fish are in Whitney.

C. It shows people what a couple of people are able to harvest in a short time while bowfishing.

D. most importantly its not a topic but a post in a thread, again while we might not like it its a legal means of harvest and I see more catfish there then anything else, I doubt they went uneaten.

E. By acting like crazy people...while most of us appreciate the joys of rough fish angling many do not....we may very well turn off other anglers that don't share the same appreciation for carp, gar, buffalo, drum...ect....that we do.

F. You will catch more flies with sugar then you will with vinegar!

I couldn't believe they piped off the boat ramp and picnic tables. They petitioned the Corps manager and he said it was his lake and he'll do what he wants. Think I'll go down there this week and fish some.
