sorry for not posting warlyer today i had to get some sleep first lol..

well we got there at 9:30 pm and we got site 31 cause of the cut grass and it just looked better than the one i had during the cagi.. we set up and baited up and i figured it would be not stop action but it was kinda slow, however i did catch 12 carp on range cubes and 10mm rosehip poped up boilies and kevin caught 7 on sweet corn and boilies we didnt stay all night cause there was a few dead carp floating around us and the possums and racoons kept making them really smell lol so we left at 4am but it was a good night?

19 carp is kinda slow, CAGI must have trained em. Did you catch any perch or catfish?

Chris, did you guys plumb the swim? The water at site 31 if only 4-5 feet deep for a long ways out.

Down there at site 28 where you guys were the night of the cagi, you were fishing about 8 foot of water and Tracy was fishing about 12 foot. He caught the bigger fish because of that.

The fish I caught from site 31 were caught by casting way out there by that marker bouy I'd dropped. It was 12 feet deep out there.

There were a ton of dead carp and buffalo the last time I was there almost 2 weeks ago. I remember making a comment to my nephew that there sure were alot. I hope there is not something bad happening there.

As for the fishing, we were white bass fishing on the lake. However, we went down below the dam and caught some 4-10 pounders in the spillway from the deck. It was fun. There were alot of them down there. You could see them swimming everywhere.

hmm...there was pretty large Carp kill at Lake Cleburne a while back, hundreds were found dead floating around. The official word was stress from spawning. How many dead fish are you guys seeing at Whitney? If it's only a dozen or less I wouldn't be concerned, but if it's dozens or near 100 or more, I would report it.

Also, what size fish are you guys catching at Whitney? Thanks.

Thanks BC. I only live about 30min from Whitney, and the times that I have fished it have produced Carp/Buffs in the same range. Though I've had many peeps tell me there are some huge Buffs in there. wink

Plus there are alot of bowfishermen there, they had a big tourney out there a few weeks ago. We used to bowfish for them years ago, it was not uncommon to shoot a couple hundred carp/gar/buffalo in a night.

Oh yeah, there was a tourney there. I wonder if that is what it's from. Couldn't be that though... I'm sure they properly disposed of all the fish seein as how it was a tournament and all...
