Hi guys, really new on here and fairly new to the area. Trying to rekindle some of my past hybrid days from Ft Phantom in Abilene. Fishing out of a kayak mostly. Is Temple Lake Park the best place to start?

Kayak will gitter done. 'bout sundown, especially on the weekends, be sure ta have ya a good light on a pole and maybe some reflective stuff on your kayak. Them big boats sometimes when underway with their bow up cain't see ya too good. They got them real good fishfinders on 'em, but no kayak finders. That's how I met MrG for the first time.

Actually in MrG's defense and his alertness the SB powered down in plenty of time and it wasn't that close but it taught me a lesson 'bout kayakin' on a lake with power boats especially in the late evening.

Yall be careful out there this weekend.I'm headed to lake Corpus Cristy for some blue cat/can wrangling and some gar hunting.Yall don't let anyone pull the plug out of the lake.

Thanks for the advice. May get me one of those tall bicycle antennas for the back of it. (And maybe some baseball cards for my spokes ) I'll give it a try. Saw quite a few whites this weekend up near Rogers Park near dark. Hoping to get out there soon but fishing the San Luis Pass this weekend for some specks.

We're heading to Tulsa on the 3rd, not a fishing trip, Visiting sister and CASINO!

just got back again. A bit slower but caught 12, 7 keepers and gave 2 away to my buddy in the boat next to me who was down on his luck. He usually catches all the fish.........
Very peaceful out there tonight. Finished cleaning and now bagging to give to the neighbors again......May have to do it again before school starts.........oops I mean before Friday.....

Buddy left once to take his wife and friends to the car. On his way back out he helped a sailboat that was in need of help. When he drug them to Franks they threw a $50 bill in his boat....why couldn't that be me.....

Good morning everyone!!

Mornin BB started the afternoon out slow. Jay told me to drop the anchor so i did, did not catch much of anything at that spot so i started pullin the anchor up and after i got all the slack out it was hung. we could not pull it up so we tied it off and drug it to the channel hoping we could get it loose. it all 300 horses on Jays boat to pull it and the props were almost out of the water. so we drug it back to shallow water and got it to where we could see the chain down in the water. tried to pull it up and it did not come any. Jay took his shirt off and jumped in the water. he found a 1/2" cable on the anchor going between the flukes. we tied the other end of the rope to the cable and held that Jay unhooked the anchor from the cable and we went fishin. Jay has no idea what it is but he said he is going to find out. we started catchin at 7 and we ended up headin back to the marina at 8:20 with a limit of hybrids and 6 whites.

Good Morning everyone, i just want to say yall are a awesome bunch folks the way yall help each other out and sound like yall have a good time and catch fish to boot. i have fished Lake belton all my life but have always done it bass fishing with the ocasional schooling whites and hybrids(i now have a pontoon for family), and have always done it in the mid section of the lake sandy beach, lawsons cove, cedar ridge on back to bull creek and girl scout camp. i know there are hybrids/whites there. m
