Planning on going to Destin Florida instead of the Sabine. We are planning on fishing drinking and relaxing.

Anyone know what is biting in the surf? Bait?

I was hoping for a Tarpon or atleast a MEAN Bull Red.

Should be scads of ladyfish and hardtails and maybe spanish macs
Small silver spoons work well. If beach bound use a casting float and 5' of 30# test florocarbon leader. Sling it out there and reel fast. Tarpon run just starting but may be to far out.
Get a live bait out deep and hang on.

Good deal! I'm hoping for something larger in the surf. I'm bringing my 12footers with 4oz surf sinkers. Hoping to get out to at least the 3rd or 4th bar for sharks, macs, and maybe a Tarpon.
