06/27 fished north side of mudd island...waded in about 3ft of water n caught specs n about 4-5 ft of water...first keeper went 17in...porpoise feeding all around us...my pops was about to reach for his 20 plus incher n up comes a porpoise and steals his trout...scared the heck out of him, but i was dying laughing...no exageration, it was about 2 ft away, broke his cork and hit his bait bucket...good stuff...pops kept tellin me 2 put my fish on ice, but i'm a lil hard headed...seconds later a porpois does a figure 8 n front of me n takes my trout after i played tug of war with it 4 a second or 2...hit quarantine shoreline n caught 2 keepers then ended the day
06/28 fished some spoils 4 bout an hour, just north of landcut...nothin...drifted pensacal 2x's...nothin...headed 2 my favorite reef at the mouth of Baffin, newly named "Jon's Reef", n got on some fish...drifted the area over n over again...ended up wit 14 specs n 1 red...specs were 16-23in...5 trout were over 20in...lost a monster that wouldn't fit n the net...pushin all of 30in...opened my swivel n took my hook, while being on the rim of the net...from now on i will only use breakaway swivels...in all it was an unforgettable trip...oh yeah we were n a tournament n showed up late for weigh n...folks, take the trip around the cities n stay away from the ferry on weekends
