I can't see any of the pics at work. Is the Bush company in Anchorage? Nice place... went there a few years ago, beautiful scenery in that fine establishment.

I wish i could have captured the color of that water. It is a glacier fed lake and the color is a silvery looking aqua blue...absolutely stunning.

MAN WHAT A CATCH! thumb

Not to hijack your thread but I made my first trip to AK last August....absolutely loved it! My older son and I spent 3 nights on my sister-in-laws boat in the Prince William Sound canal and saw everything from humpback whales to sea lions and otters. flehan
Most amazing place I've ever been. Countin the days until I go back! nuts

Here are a few pics.
Yes..I know...looks like her fish is going to eat mine! laugh

Older son's 30lb Halibut...caught 600' down. Took him 20 minutes to reel it in.

Yellow-eyed rockfish...mine 9lbs....son's was 20!!! smile

Looking up from the boat about 100 yards from shore...

Sweet!

I had the Russian River on my schedule but spent an extra day in Denali and had to scrap it. Will definitely hit it on my next visit!

Where abouts did you catch the ling and halibut?

Holy smokes! I heard it was crowded but that looks like a good way to get someone's hook stuck in you!

So does everyone around you reel up when you have a fish on?

The pic looking across the river was at the mouth of the Russian dumping into the Keni at the campground right. Is the ferry still there to go across the Keni. Was there 1965-1968 loved it.

Yep, I am sure it is the same cable ferry. What did it cost back then? When I started goin i think it was 4 bucks. Now they want $9.25....ridiculous.

that picture is a little deceiving. It is zoomed in. That's actually a VERY long strech of the river....1/4 of a mile or so. Now that was an extremely crowded day...most likely on a weekend after all the local papers reported record numbers of fish counts.

We called this one "The Alaska Tip". Left for the gal that had to clean up that cabin after we left....very late.
