It was a great trip. Derik and I even got an awsome night of non stop action the evening beofre on lake whitney. We left them biting at 4:30AM Sandies and crappie mostly. We were both using 9 foot fly rods in a crampt indoor dock just cause. The river had so many fish, it was something that I cant wait to do again.

Thanx for those who tried or did show up. Now where is the next one going to be?

I missed out on the river trip but still made it out to Lake Somerville Wednesday Morning. I caught lots of small whites that were schooling all over the area and missed every one of five LMB when they each threw the hook! Good to hear you-all did well and maybe next time I'll get to go!

Hi Hook-line@sinker

I am a Newcomer here and try to get some whites. I used to go at Sat Morning but didn't get well. What bait do you use and where did you catch then? I used to have live bait and the outcome fallow with white season.

Thanks, Jeff

The whitebass I was catching were on a simple streamer but anything flashy will work on these small aggressive schooling whitebass. I fished the area around Welch Park between the boat ramp and the humps toward the dam. The best time to fish is very early in the morning on weekdays but sometimes the bigger whitebass will school up around the humps and islands along the dam in the late afternoon. It helps greatly if you have a boat because the schooling fish move fast and usually in open water.
