I just began fly fishing and am trying to find some good spots in Austin to go to.
I know about many spots on town lake and lake austin but none other. thanks

Bull creek, Spicewood, Lake Austin, Lady Bird (town lake), Travis, Barton creek, Reimers Ranch (new county park), Colorado river, and a number of tailraces below each lake. I lived in Austin and fished all these places but access is an issue and finding a peaceful place within the city is getting very hard to do... Go west for some decent fishing on the LLano, Perdenales and upper Colorado... If you have a canoe or kayak I suggest floating sections of the Colorado below Town lake all the way to Bastrop. I think that part of the river is the most under-rated fishery around Austin... But once again access to the river is a questionable area...
