I got my first order of Secret 7 and some Dead Red Dip Tubes this week and was going to head out to LL today to give 'em a try. But my 4 year old son, Preston, wanted to go fishing with me, which is rare so I changed plans and took him to a local pond in Flower Mound.

Well, I knew I didn't like this bait for a reason ....my son out fished me 5 to 0!!!! Then my wife (8 months pregnant with the next my son) came out for about 30 minutes, so I handed her my R&R and then she immediately caught one! But me...the big fisherman....skunked!

If I remember correctly a few weeks ago you wern't sure about your purchase of Secret 7. It looks to me like things have worked out.
Way to go!

We had 16 keepers and lots of smaller fish fishing last Saturday on LL.

Great job getting the little one out there and catching some fish. Secret 7 will not doubt catch plenty of fish. One quick tip for you. Cut the dip tube in half. My hook-up ratio greatly improved using the smaller size tube with a #6 treble hook.

Yeah, I know that pond - Rheudasil park pond. It used to get trout stocked during the winters. Remember meeting old Bob Rheudasil for who it's named (wonder if he's still around & kicking), he was a nice old fella.

Nice looking bullheads there - good way to get a kid hooked on fishing !!

I thought I had read that tip on the forum before and considered doing that. But that extra bit of tube keeps my fingers from getting into that stuff! Honestly, even with those little bullheads the tubes didn't seem to affect the hit ratio too much. Preston lost a couple, but he wasn't setting the hook well either.

That actually is not Rhudesil Park, although I think I'll take Preston there next. This particular pond is right by the Lewisville ISD Natatorium, which is basically around the corner from the Flower Mound Town Square. I honestly can't remember the name of the park, but it is nice too.

I enjoyed meeting you and Preston this weekend.He seems like a great little kid. I'm glad that Secret-7 worked for yall and hope it does the same for us.

My daughters and I fished Rhudesil Park during Kid Fish back in March and caught several cats over 2 pounds. You should give it a try the next time Preston wants to go.It's a good place to take kids,it has a play ground for when they get bored,or when they are out fishing you. Yes,my family out fish me on a regular basis too!

The park by the Natatorium is Leonard Johns Park. There are some nice fish in that pond along with some huge turtles. Rhudesil is a nice park to fish. I fish it almost every weekend with my daughter. The bigest catfish I have caught out of Rhudesil is a 10lb channel but have have caught several blues in 2-3lb range. Rhudesil is also full of crappie and bass.

That's it, Leonard Johns. And yes there are some big turtles in that pond. We had to move from or fist spot because the turtles were like ducks chasing tossed bread when I threw out a few range cubes. They were literally grabbing the cubes and swimming off with them before they sunk or dissolved.

Rhudesil Park is definitely next.
