Well, yesterday I talked to mom about taking me to fish a local swim I call EUB, for the first time, she agreed to take me Monday! Woohoo! So later that day She had to run to wally world so I tagged along to do some feature finding at the swim.....

3ft deep, hard bottom, lots of weeds on the sides. We saw a lot of mullet, and a few possible carp (very small ones).
So after Marker Roding the swim I did not feel very good about fishing it, so later in the day we said we would hit the Brazos River in its place! So I wake up this AM, ready for Church and could not stop thinking about the coming session.
THEN.... Mom told me she had talked to dad about it, and that we would go fish the Brazos after dad got back home. BUGGER!
That would give me NO TIME to prepare my baits like I had planed! Talk about a monkey wrench!

So we went looking for a good swim after Church and found one by a boat ramp. Brackish water, deep water. Sounds good!

So after waiting for dad to get home for a while he said he would be stopping to come home soon. So we opted to go by our selves, and I had none of my gear ready yet so we had to jump through our butts to get everything ready.
So we left at 2:00pm, and got to the river at 2:30pm...... only to find the swim with people already fishing it. BUGGGER #2! "Now what?" said mom. I said "lets run just up the road to another creek." So we went just up the road to the spot I hoped to fish..... the wind had a ton of Water Hyacinth covering the whole area, leaving the area that my mom did not want us to fish free of the Water Hyacinth!! BUGGER #3!

So that left us only one other swim..... one I call "shy." The pond at a local city park.
I know the chances of catching any kind of fish was slim to none, due to a few people telling me that they had never caught any fish there. Ugh..... my luck!
Sure nuff'.... no fish, just a few bites from turtles.

I covered most every swim I knew of in the area, and still ended up fishing the one that was the last one I would have ever wanted to fish.

All in all it was just fun to get out and fish a new area.

At least you got to fish another swim. That sucks you didnt catch anything. You will get one next time.

keep your head up and keep trying it may take a long session to find out if there in there and right now with this heat i think your best chances are going to be in the morning or just before the sun goes down.. sorry about blanking it happens..

maybe next time you will be able to get that spot on the brazos!

Yeah, My dad was talking about running up the river by boat and fishing from a sand bar. Maybe we can get up in to more freshwater.
