Ok on the new full size, the only way I can turn on the exterior bed light is pushing in the lil nobby thing so it pops out and turning it all the way to the right. But this also turns on every light in the truck, making it impossible to see out the back. Someone tell me im a tard and theres another way to do this.

My 2007 is not that way. You push the button in to turn ONLY the bed light on.

i barely figured out how to turn on my fog lights

i guess thats what i get from going to a 91 f-150 to a 07 silverado

The button i push is the one that controls the brightness of all your guages. Once you turn all the way to the right, the whole truck lightes up like a christmas tree.

Only had the truck a week, but i just realized i had fog lights yesterday when i washed it!! Never noticed that lil button...

mine has button that is just for the bed light. It is below the light switch right by the fog light switch.

I remember Fords being that way. You are not supposed to turn the bed light on when you are driving. You can get ticketed for having a white light shining to the rear. I used to have a rollbar with a 300W daylighter pointed back. Tailgaters backed of rather quickly.

iv got a 08 gmc and its like that iv got to turn the knob and all the light come on inside i dont like it ethier iv thought about putting a toggle switch there just for that light..

Cargo Lamps
The cargo lamp is controlled by the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit. When the dimmer switch is turned clockwise to the farthest setting, the BCM recieves an input from the dimmer switch for courtesy lamps and cargo lamp to be commanded ON

if you want to hard wire a toggle switch to it then go to the cargo lamp and cut the white/black stripe wire and tie your new wire from there to the toggle switch and from the other side of the toggle switch you will want to go to the fuse block and find a fuse that is only hot when the ignition is on.

stan, is that why it goes on and off say like every 15 minutes cause of the body control module or is there another timerin the switch?

the body control module shuts it down so it does not run the battery down.

The answer is that it is designed that way on purpose so that you will not turn it on while driving

I would buy a Huge light bar if my bed light didnt turn on seperate.
