How did you get the crack rock to stay on the hook?!? hmmm

J/K...I fish White Rock every chance I get. The last couple of times I went I whacked 'em on tubes in the cattails. A few nice 4 an 5 pounders and a bunch 13"-14".

We are going to be having a small waters tournament out there in August, if anyone is interested, check out the link in my sig.

Bassin'striper, keep me up to date on the tourney at whiterock. Can we fish out a boat or float tube? Individual or team?

Thanks,
Bryan

At one time the state claimed during shocking survey's that White Rock Lake had more bass per acre than any other lake.

Well Gosh. I must have fished the wrong baits at the wrong locations on the wrong days.

I use to live only 5 minutes away. I wished I would have been more patient.

Only from ponds that have stunted fish or a rare river trip, I might eat one or two, thats it!

Anybody doing any good out at white rock as of late? I'm going to start trying to catch some bass out there and was looking for some tips. I have a 12' jon boat, but can't seem to find the fish.

It's a tough lake in the summer, fall, winter, etc. I like using big baits for the better fish and smaller baits for some #'s. You really just have to get lucky finding them. I haven't fished out there in over a month now, so I can't tell you whats happening right now!

Nice fish! I'm always amazed when I see reports of good fishing coming out of WRL. I grew up 3 blocks from Garland Rd., in Forest Hills, many years ago! Before I was born my grandfather worked nights for the DM News. He lived toward town and would ride the bus down to the spillway. He kept his poles under the house of a man, named Frank Buck, who lived just up the street from there. My Mom said that one day my grandfather brought home a huge catfish (on the bus). I used to ride my bike down to the lake just to look at it and wish I were fishing, but at that time, it would be a waste of time. At that time, there were mostly just shad and carp in the lake and it was very silted. My Scoutmaster, Pierre Fontaine, Director of the Dallas Aquarium (and later Zoo) told me there were too many fish in the lake. He explained to me (a kid then) that there was not enough food for them all and so they were stunted. Things have really changed. No, I never saw the Lady of the Lake either, but in high school (WWW)and College, I had the opportunity to watch the submarine races. Lots of memories! I understand that the lake was later dredged and stocked. Too bad I don't live there anymore! Maybe someday I will have the opportunity to fish the lake!
