Those are beautiful, fat, healthy fish and I bet they are a hoot to catch!

I keep threatening myself with going out at night to fish a local pond but so far I've not backed up my bark with any bite.

LOL...that is funny. I'd be going out there to give it a try, but I caught some bad cold/virus from my kids. I am feeling better today, but it will definitely be next week before I am gonna be back to normal... My daughter had to have antibiotics and an inhaler...I'm just toughing it out with Tylenol and regular over the counter meds so far...hehehe. I definitely want to go fishing with you there. My son just left today to fish in a friend's boat. He is all excited and even asked me to make up my famous hotdog bait for the trip. (he just does conventional fishing, but I am trying to get him to TRY fly fishing)

Hi Kelly, I had to go to Okalahoma and although the reason wasn't to fish, I somehow managed to squeeze that in...the Glover river is the last natural un-damned river/stream in the state of Ok. The water is crystal clear & cool, last year I caught some smallmouth (and Laremouth & spotted) this year only spotted bass and several green sunfish.

Very nice. I have never fished in crystal clear water before.

its not just clear, its pristine, almost untouched area...i was at the boy scout camp and its 20 miles and then some to anything...the fish dont get to see a lot of lures there so while light leaders are a good idea, the fish will hit a variety of offerings.

Oh my...that is beautiful. You are gonna have to tell me how to get there one of these days. Is it far from Broken Bow? I have got to get that way this fall. (cooler weather...I am dreaming of it already lol) I am almost over this cold...and when I am...I plan on fishing. (Lone Star lake maybe..hehehe)

Kelly you just have to find the spot with the red X. Easy job. Just google it. Terry

last year I stood in one spot on the Glover and within 30 minutes caught Largemouth, Smallmouth & Spotted bass trifecta, none very big, but still a very memorable trip

Very nice indeed. I must go there this fall if I can afford it. I will look at a map and see Broken Bow, then the Glover River.

Well I don't know how to find the red x from Google Earth. I might go blind looking. I do see the Glover River is just off of 259...which is the way I would take to get to Broken Bow.

Kelly, do you feel that tugging sensation? That's Terry pulling your leg smile

But in all seriousness, the Glover has quite a reputation. I hear it's got some of the biggest sand bass in the entire country. Some bigtime guides take folks there on trips.

Yeah...he is pulling my leg a little. I could use Google Earth to search the area...but I know it is off of 259...unless Mike went further up and maybe off of 259...I am dying to try out Broken Bow and that area.

Yep big time leg pullin. Looks like a great spot and a nice river to fish. Stream/river fishing is my favorite. Lots of memorable times in Va. in Army fishing streams/rivers with by buddies.
