Well I did it, I asked my mom if she would let me go night fishing up the creek and she is not to wild about the Idea but she said yes, I just need to get my dad to put lights on the boat first! This is the first hole that I want to fish for yellow cats.
]
Inside the line is timber free and all around it has lots of cover. The hole is a good bit bigger but I don't think you can fish it and the cover more spread out. Whats in the pic is the part of the log jam that has the most cover and the only spot that you can fish that I know of. Do yall think this is the best why to fish it? Also I was told by a guy that he caught two yellas out of this hole one was a 33 lb and the other was a 60 something, so I know there is some big ones in there! Thanks for the help!

PS, This pic was taken in January and the water was a bit low at the time.

Looks good to me Caney. One thing about the lights. Mount them as forward as you can on your boat. I mounted two lights on the grab rail of the console of my boat and I get so much reflected light from the front of the boat that it makes it hard to see past the boat hammer. One of those things you don't find out till its too late. bang

Is there any current in the creek? If so, remember that the big yellows will lay on the bottom facing the current. If no current, your layout is great. GOOD LUCK

The only current would be the tide going out or coming in.

I wouldn`t run the lights till you get a hit. Anchor light is plenty. Dont forget the bug spray.

looks like there's current there as you can see the ripples to the right of that one log stickin up there where ya got rod #1 set ... since it looks like there's current there I'd have gotten my boat positioned a lot closer to the shore so that when the fish grabbed my bluegill and started back down river I'd have a shot at getting them outta that timber instead of them just wrapping my line around a stump and then being gone. that's almost 100% of the time where the fish will go after they pick up a bait is to turn back down in the direction the current is flowing as the scent off your bait will be dispersing down river and they'll come at it from the down current direction and the first thing they normally do when they pick up a bait is to turn and go back the other way ... if they do that the way you've got your rods ... out to the side of the current and logs they'll just wrap your line around one of those stumps. at least if you're up river from the stumps you got a shot at them just staying down river from them and being able to pull them by the stumps after the first initial run.

Tiny you da man, I can always count on you to give the best advice! I am going to put the boat up stream a little more just for that reason.

Lol! You guys! CC is a growing boy and needs his sleep! Momma knows what's best (wish my momma was still around!). If you MUST, CC, do a camping trip with GG and overnight the hole. Did you bait the hole? From what I was told, blues go after live bait. In the evening, take some ultra light gear and catch some bream before the sun goes down. Rig them with a lit bobber (glo-sticks!). I can promise you some super fun with those bigger blues!

Thanks for the tip! Mom told my this morning that when she went to bed she thought about it and when she was 16 she wanted to stay out till 12 PM, And she said that she was going the stop worrying about what might happen and just go with the flow of things, YA RIGHT! So I don't know if she is going to let me stay till 12 now or let me stay out as long as I want.

Mom is gonna worry about you the rest of her life, no matter what age you are. That's a fact. Just accept, embrace, and appreciate it thumb. It's a Mother thing noidea. I believe your parents have done fine with you and your brother, now they just have to realize that.

With poles in the water. I would probably just watch out for snags.
