I was down in POC last week and kept running into schools of Sheepshead on the flats. We were throwing artificials, but they weren't interested. Anybody know what they'll hit in skinny water?

Are you sure they were sheepshead? Might they have been small black drum? I see alot of those on the flats. Dead shrimp is best for them.

Definitely Sheepshead. And many of them were good size. We were catching a mixed bag of mostly redfish, some flounder, and a few black drum. I figured shrimp and crabs might work, but the piggys pick your hook clean in under a minute. Maybe live bait (croakers?) or cut bait? Something I can keep out there long enough for them to find it.

Crabs. Small crabs or half crabs. They love crabs.
