has anyone tried these with any success? i picked up some at DICKS tonight as they were on sale.. (Along with some Normans cranks at $2.25 each smile ) But the money minnows look good, and I figure I might be able to catch some deep fish off structure. does anyone have any tips? rip it up off the bottom, slowly pull it along. work it vertical like a crappie jig?? this swimbait stuff is new to me smile

Put them on a LFT swimbait hook and fish it where you would a spinnerbait. Bad news is they are good for maybe 3 fish.

not much of a weight. just to keep it down and let the bait weightless do its job and just drag it along.keep a eye on the length of your leader. for grass depth

Bass Pro sells the Lake Fork Tackle 5/0 EWG with a 1/8oz.wt. on the shank that I use on the larger Money Minnow. For the small Money Minnow I use any of the std.size 5/0 weighted frog hooks.

In my pool tests with these hooks/weights these baits have a suttle action (less movement) when cranked slow that looks very realistic. To keep these baits very deep it requires a slow crank or they will rise toward the surface.

The Lake Fork Tackle Hooks work great with the Money Minnows. They actually sell them at Wal Mart here. They aren't with the hooks though, they are with the jig heads and stuff like that. The Money Minnows have produced for me the best this year.

I have been fishing the xcite baits brand swimbaits like the money minnow. You get 5 in a pack instead of 4 and it is a Texas company (Lewisville). I usually run them on a 6/0 or 8/0 weighted hook usually in a 1/4oz. Had several 100+ fish days in June on the rainbow trout color as well as the pearl chart back.

I have also fished them on a regular crig with good success on a 6/0 Gama superline hook.
