I all ready drink the champagne of beers, and the reason I got a vice was to eliminate the middle man for something I can very well do myself. All I wanted to see was patterns not poo.

pt nymph
Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear
There are a few other patterns here that, while not "prezactly" nymphs, will fish like a nymph and catch fish like a nymph.

first listed site on google gives you everything you need to know about matts bug. I however tie something a little different. I don't know its called but it looks a lot like a matts bug. Bead chain eyes about half way down the hook. Tie in a little marabou for a tail. Wrap the rest of the marabou up for a body and finish with a cone nose. The bream can't keep from hitting it

the closest to the thing I tie is a guadalupe green. I don't use any hackle and I tie in the eyes a little further back. You can find a video on youtube. I'd give the link but I'm on my iPhone and can't cut and paste. I tie it in all sorts of colors and have caught sandies, bream, largemouth and crappie on them. Very easy to tie and I hooked a giant largemouth on one -- didn't land it though

I like tying the SHWAPF (swept hackle, wingless, all purpose fly).

The beginner tying guide there is great.

I'd forgotten all about the SHWAPF, thanks for bringing it up!
I need to tie some up for droppers.
