I'm considering a trip to Fairfield soon, I strictly bank fish but the only reports I've read on FF is from a boat. Is it even worth bank fishing for panfish this time of year there? If the panfish aren't available from the banks, what about Reds or Cats? Thanks.

When you enter the park just past the entrance office take the first left. The road will be marked boat ramp. Just before you get to the boat ramp the road makes a hard left. Continue on straight and that road goes to the swimming area and fishing point. That is an excellent area to begin bank fishing. I see lots of reds and catfish being caught there. I also see people throwing cast nets and catching Tilapia and bream.
Fairfield best kept secrete in Texas so don't tell anyone.

There is a high population of carp in the lake, I've seen them spawning in the back of Big Brown Creek in the spring. I do mean a lot of them. I hardly ever see a bow hunter with one they are usually after Tilapia.
