Im about to open a can of worms, but I cant seem to find much in the search about this. Im looking to get a high quality worm rod. Its open for discussion. Something in the 7ft range, im willing to spend up to $300.00 if Im convinced.

I fish around a lot of docks, so I use a 6'6" often.

My favorite is a G Loomis MBR GLX 783 (6'6" MH) with a Shimano 50 Mg.

I like the Cara too just not quite as heavy for some plastics so I'll say the CC-5-1610H-T7.

If you like a longer more pwerful rod I'd recommend a CC-7-173S-T7.

http://www.falconrods.com/products.php?CategoryID=7

And just to be a bit more confusing here's their Cara Reaction rods page:

http://www.falconrods.com/products.php?CategoryID=9 These rods (Caras) are at the upper end of my financial comfort zone at $149-$179. If I had the kahonas I'd probably try a G-Loomis top of the line. Caras though are awesome rods!

Maybe the most sensitive rod I have ever fished. I have been using mine since 2004 and I know that I felt bites and caught fish that I would have missed with some other brands.

Powell 684 CEF or 683 CEF
I am really liking the Powell line-up of rods and with the newly announced price drop at $139 they should be a real value. Rockwall Marine has or can get them for you or Cabelas if you are in Ft. Worth or San Antonio area.

I use a Hendrix 783 IM8. Looking at having an 843 IM8 cut down to 6'6" to use.

the "best" is pretty subjective. How about just "opinions"? smile

I personally will recommend the Powell 684CEF, or the longer one (a 7'2"?) for worm fishing. I use the 684 for swimming jigs on braid but the rod is stiff enough for t-rigging and up to 1/2oz weights. IMO the 683CEF is a little too tippy for t-rigging with anything over 3/16oz but it's one helluva weightless senko rod.

Kistler 7 MH Magnesium. I have several of the LTX II's and love them! If that is in your price range you should try one, beware... you will want more. Unless you damage them and "break on hook set" stir

Ive seen alot of people talking about kistler, but also have seen quite a few posts complaining of the rod breaking and a crappy service department. Is this something i need to worry about when looking at a kistler? I purchased some phoenix blaze rods from a site member. The cranking rods works great and I havent had enough time with the medium heavy worm rod. I broke a johnny morris rod on a nice hookset (into a rock) yesterday. So, Im returning that and using the money to probably purchase a Falcon Cara. All your response is really appreciated. Ill continue to update everyone on the rods I purchase/ return and well see who has the best taste here!

Triton, I don't know what the people that say Kistler has bad customer service are drinking, or smoking. Kistler ranks right there with Bass Cat, and Ranger as far as customer service goes. Anytime I call them they are very helpful. If you want a rod that you can feel the slightest bites with try a Kistler out. I have had almost every rod brand known to man, and it is my favorite so far.
