What a day last Thursday was fishing with Lane , AKA Corksoaker and his Father Frank. Lane is with midcoast products that makes a new style of corks that are selling like hot cakes.( www.midcoastproducts.com ) Lane's Father, Frank, was staying in Galveston for the week so I invited Lane and Frank to go fishing with me while Frank was down. Insted of fishing Matagorda where I have been for the last 9 months we decided to fish closer to where Frank was staying. We met up at Ernie's around 6 a.m. and off we went. Since it had been a while since I last fished this area I decided to hit some of my old places that worked in the past. First stop there was no bait around and no fish so we moved on to the Pass area. There was tons of bait and birds everywhere. Lots of Lady Fish to be had. We decided to make a move to the other side of Bird Island. Everyone got their wading gear on and jumped out and from the time we got out to the time we returned to the boat it was almost every cast. It was 9 a.m when we got out of the boat and at 10 a.m. we was all limited out with our 30 trout. All fish where caught on plastics of every color that we threw and some of the bigger trout was caught on topwaters. What a day and glad to have been able to put Lane and his Dad on a great trip for them to have memories to share for a very long time.
