Does anybody have one and do you like it. What brand do you have. I am thinking of buying one but would like to hear what people have to say about them.

My parents had one when I was a kid. Ugly as all get out, but it worked fine and we traveled all over the country in an old green Ford truck with that thing in the bed. I do remember that is was easier said than done to get it on and off.

I have been looking at a 2005 Lance, it is pretty nice looking. But they are asking 9500.00. It seems to me if you pull a boat it would be so much easier with that style of camper. Before I go and spend money I want to make sure people like them. rb7764, what you said about getting it on and off is something I will be sure to look into.

If it is you and just a partner and you don`t want to spend alot of money Capri Campers is what I would go with you can get the Rodeo Deluxe it has a shower and good closet space, sink, and hot water heater and it will sleep 3 go to www.capricamper.com and it will show you the different layouts if I am not mistaken you can get the Rodeo Deluxe for like 8100.00 new and they will usually put any colors on one that you want.

FD911,
I just read your last post with regards to towing a boat. The one we had extended a few feet beyond the bed of the truck. The extra space was nice. In order to tow a boat with one like that, we had to put an extension on the truck frame. The ones that fit totally in the bed of the truck do not require this, but they are much smaller.
That capricamper site looks nice - assuming you only are going with a person or two.

My buddy has one and it is AWESOME...but it is HUGE. The Lance is known for being the top of the line.
I wouldn't mind having one...

Here's a forum that has everything (and more) that you'd want to know about truck campers. Truck Camper ForumDad and I had one when I was growing up. I've got a pop-up that my son and I go fishing in. Don't get a pop-up. Wish I could get rid of it and get a hard side. Good times & great memories. Fourjs

i really wanted one but my wife made me get a trailer but i have researched them rather well and the one i like is a artic fox , its not cheap but its built with a all aluminum frame and frp walls watch ebay and every now and then youll see one a i really think they're best in fit and finish theres one more all fiberglass ,i think its called great northern, its made in canada and is probably the most energy efficient, its made with a all fiberglass top and bottom bonded together, both are superior to lance
