I'm looking for a good spot for a pop-up camper near Port A. Do any of y'all know of a place? This is for the weekend of the 4th of July. Mustang Island St Park is booked. There are spots at Goose Island, but we'd prefer to be closer to Port A. Any nice private areas?

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by private areas, but there's a county park in Port A. I don't think they do reservations if my memory serves me. You can get water, electicity, shower/bathhouse access. There's also an RV park on cut-off road....not sure what the policy for stays is there.

Thanks for the info.

By private areas I meant private camp grounds or rv parks.

This link is from the Port A chamber of commerce.

I have stayed at IB Magee many times but they do not take reservations. I drove throught Pioneer and it looked nice. On the beach looked a little cramped but it was close to the beach. Getting a good spot on the 4th might be tough. Good luck.

Give this place a call to see if there is anything available:

They are between Rockport and Aransas Pass.
