buying new lures and equipment all the time can cost lots of money. You can save money by making your own equipment. The first time that you make a lure it can turn out a bit messy, but with practice you'll get better. The simplest lure to make is a plug, so I reccommend that you practice on plugs first and then move on to other types. You can also make your own soft plastics with a liquid plastic called plastisol and various molds to pour it into. It is harder to make rods because there is alot of equipment needed, such as the wrapping machine, as well as many parts for each individual rod. Reels you should just buy because of all the hard work it takes to make them and because it can be very complicated.

Ive always wanted to make my own lures but I didnt know what kind of plastic to use or where to even buy molds for them.
I could do that on the spare time I have sittin at home instead of video games haha

Check out www.tackleunderground.com for information on making you own baits. I have been doing it for years and it is a blast. You can buy molds and any number of places or make you own. If you are making saltwater baits they have a plastic especially made for the tougher conditions in saltwater.
Give it a try, but beware of the addiction and be afraid, be very afraid.
