Went to Warren tonight, got a 3lb LMB on a yellow crank. Nothing else working, got a few nibbles on a sinko and a guy 20 feet down from me was catching crappies on night crawlers.

Lots of the stuff that looks like it came off a douglas fee christmas tree! There are some clear spots but I didn't have an issue running a crank off the dam side after the first few casts to clear me a path. This is my first year so I don't have a lot to base it on but it might be the most grass i have ever fished.

Yes - Warren is on it's way to being choked up w/grass & moss - just like last year.
Tough to fish with anything but a weightless worm or a frog over the top - which can
be fun. I have had decent luck w/cranks off the peirs in deeper more open water.
I think the better fish are all stacked up around that fountain - cooler, deeper (relatively) water. I have seen guys wading out to get there for some decent fish.
Also, some days you can't even get a sniff. But, I'll keep goin. The very first time I
went out there I saw a kid pull in a 4.5 on a bubblegum worm - so I keep thinkin'
they're here somewere!!

Have you tried the south end, far end from the dam? I was thinking about going down there next time and trying that end. I usually go off the dam, right in the middle to the east end. I have never seen a boat out in there but there are no signs, might be nice to get a little jon or 2 seat bass buggy out there and see how it goes.

Man - I thought the same thing the first time i went out there - but - there IS a sign.
It's posted on the east side right where what looks like an old road bed that goes into the lake-no water craft! I did see a couple of kids put a canoe in one time.

I fish the south end in the am - decent topwater till it starts gettin' hot, like now. It's really shallow - mainly fish a frog and a weightless worm or fluke.
