Fished n a mini tournament on saturday n didn't do too well...waded the inside of Mudd Island from 0545-1000...saw a school of about 15 reds right at daybreak...was throwing a topwater at em, but they wouldn't take...by the time i screwed my gulp on, they were gone...buddy of mine was wading deeper water n caught a nice 19 in spec...after 4 n a half hours of wading, it was time to move on...drifted Traylor Island, nothin...drifted Calif Hole, nothin...drifted Steadmans, buddy caught a 15 in flounder nothin else...word was the fish were hitting at the tip of the jetties and along the Lydia Ann
Headed to Baffin this mornin...drifted rocks a Pensacal Point n came out wit 1 16 in speck...few dinks in between...decided to try a reef that i usually fish, n it sort of paid off...began to drift n noticed an orange circle below the water about 7 ft across...REDS...1st school about 20, 2nd school about 40, 3rd school about 40, then i saw the biggest school of reds ever...from left to right, 10oclock to 1oclock, the water was red...about a thousand reds mixed with black drum n 4 ft of water, just below the surface...hooked a 24 in red with a gulp, hooked a 20 in black drum free lining live shrimp, hooked 2 more reds, but spit the hook at the boat...all those fished were worked for an hour straight, but they were just not biting n e thing...still a fun trip n most exciting thing i've ever seen...gonna sleep good tonight
