I just moved to the Keller area. I am an experienced angler and have fished some of the nearby lakes, but I am not familiar with any of the ponds in the area. Of course I usually fish for bass, so that would be of the most interest to me.

What are some of the best ponds around?

Also, I want to spend time with my wife while fishing. Quantity over quality will keep her attention more. What areas might be good for bream/perch fishing?

Any advice or information is definitely appreciated.

Thank You.

I understand the pond in Bear Creek Park, off of 377, has bass in it. Might give it a try. If you bring some worms, the bluegill should keep you busy. You might also visit the Colleyville Nature Center, off Glade Road between 26 and Precinct Line. The pond with the pier is loaded with bluegill and smallish catfish.

FB - I lived on Park North Lane just off Bear Creek Road for 12 years. I put 5 big channel cats in there one day I had caught at Ray Bob. I also put 3 24-25" redfish in there that were still alive in my boat well when I got back from Waco with them - I doubt they survived any of the winters, though. I also (illegally) put some slot bass in there from Ray Bob.

Problem is most of the ponds on Bear Creek in that area are flow thru so a lot of the fish go downstream....

Don't waste your time at Colleyville Nature Center. It has really gone down hill over the last couple of years in my opinion. It is hit or miss at best.

Send me a PM and I will fill you in on a few of my favorite spots in the Keller area. Maybe you have a few you can share with me as well.

I 2nd GNUTS comment on the Colleyville Nat Ctr. I have fished that place dozens of times and only landed one fish!!

If you do try the Nature Ctr, fish the far west tank. Its the one that has a couple of houses back right up to it.

i have never done to well at the colleyville nature center either. i do most of my fishing in southlake. since every neighborhood in southlake has a pond there are alot of ponds to choose from. If you dont mind trespassing or in private ponds only then there is some really good bass fishing in southlake. there is a pond behind the police station next to the davis 1709 intersection that has done good. pm me if you want to know my aces, but you will have to tell me some good keller, colleyville, grapevine ponds

Thanks to everyone who has replied to this post and to those who have sent me private messages with locations. I have already had some very good fishing trips to some of these locations and look forward to many more at the places I have not yet been able to try.

Keller Municiple Center, off Ruffe Snowe, has sunfish, cats, and i believe bass.

Chisolm Park, in Hurst, has sunfish and cats.

And I dont know exactly where you are, but the Trinity River has nice fish.
Bear Creek in Keller

Bicentinal Park in Southlake

Chesapeake Park in Southlake

Greenbriar Park in Ft Worth

Joe Pool Lake and Eagle Mountain Lake has some nice bass, a little out of the way though.

Hoped it helped, I live in Arlington, pretty close by.

The nature center is very good, during select times of the year. I have posted many pictures on this forum, of 5lb plus bass......mostly on topwater.

Of course, it helps that I live next to it, and can be opportunistic on the weather patterns.
