I need to replace the 2 air pump check valves on my 1986 Chevy Silverado with the 305 (5.0) V.8...Here's the problem, they are original (as was most everything up until a few years ago)...Well they've given out and are a bit rusted to the pipes...How in the world do I get them off? I'd take off the whole pipe, but they are rusted to engine...
Could I cut the pipes and use a compression coupling to put another pipe with the new air pump check valves on them? Could I sauter the pipes like I would under a sink? I don't really care to blow up myself or the truck.
Thanks for any and all helpful suggestions...
