So I know that the water is a free for all on weekends and the battle between people fishing and people skiing and other water sports will always be a tug of war for space but GEEZ
I met the worst most unconsiderate boater in the universe today. I mean what a jack@**. So 3 boats including us are fishing in 21 ft today trying to catch a few sandies by the glass house today. The boat are approx 20 ft apart with 1 boat fishing away from the bank and 2 of us fishing back towards the bank. All of a sudden this black and red malibu with a huge ski rack comings screaming down through the middle of us!!! So after 3 trips down the center of us.I scream at his and before he looks at me, the driver just waves. Needless to say, I lost my temper and called him a "not so nice person," and told him he was number 1 with my middle finger. The lake was glass today and he could have skii'd anywhere as we were there fishing since 6 a.m. They made one last pass by us and he juvenile son made some comment but we just ignored him...guess like father like son. Am I being unreasonable

Hatfield and McCoys. It has always been this way, probably always will. If you get on a water ski or wakeboard forum, you will see a very different slant on the problem. I think it is one of those little problems you just learn to deal with in your own way, as long as it is legal.

Sounds like a normal summer day on the lake. We all hate it and some days are worse than others. All you can do is shake your head and go on.

It was very agrivating since it didn't make sense to run between us when there was open water for 4 football fields behinds. Technically is a slab to the windshield illegal? I wanted to soooo bad ahahaha

My buddy and I were strolling the rocks on Ray Hubbard today, and a wakeboarder actually came within 5 feet of my boat and intentionally splashed us. Not right at all.

Yozuri 5/8 oz. Ratln Vibe is nice and throws real well. LOL! We deal with it on Lake Murray up here all the time. Paint ball gun used to work but lake Rangers get testy. Same goes for other bass fisherman that go past u without giving any courtesy.

I guess the only defense nowadays is to try and be on the water when everyone else is off of it, like a weekday or not so perfect weather, etc.

i like the paintball idea, and if someone came that close that they spalshed me they would have some things flying at thier boat.

We do not have as big a issue at Lake Ray Roberts because of the stumps. If we go by the Dam "Their area" we deserve what we get. But in the stumps and points they stay away from. Or near a sand bar. Gotta a good laugh last year before the rains came. One beached in the middle of the lake!! (me) Haven't taken the Grands out since.
Somepeople have no respect.
But we bass fish so is different.

2 oz slab casts real nice into windshields of ski boats, they make a coooooool noise too.

I HAD AN INCIDENT YEARS BACK WHERE I WAS HIT BY KID DRIVING/PULLING HIS DAD TO THE BOAT RAMP INSIDE THE 5MPH BOUY.(SKIING) A WARDEN LATER TOLD ME JUST THAT , TO GET HIS TX NUMBER AND CALL THE WARDEN. HE SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIS BOAT, TRUCK, AND ARRESTED HIM. THE BOAT AND TRUCK WOULD BE HELD UNTIL DAMAGES WERE PAID TO FIX MY BOAT..
I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A CAMERA AND PHONE READY TO SPEED DIAL THE WARDEN TO STOP THESE IDIOTS..
BUT THEN AGAIN I BELIEVE IN THE DEATH PENALTY FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS, TOO!

A lot of lakes have police force on the water TRA and BRA lakes do. We called the TRA for an incident on Lake Bridgeport (kids throwing rocks at our boat because we were fishing their dock) and they responded. Game Wardens are sometimes stretched pretty thin.

Game Warden once told us if you can hit there boat with a slab they are legally too close !! We have an old Abu Garcia with a 7.5' rod rigged with a 2 oz. slab just for that....

Put the game wardens number in your call phone and take pictures!

A couple of weeks ago my Dad(83) and I were fishing on Toledo Bend along a submerged tree line on a channel. There are buoys marking the channel.

However when the wind blows the markers move a few feet with the direction of the wind.

A "bozo" with a PWC was buzzing us, giving us lip about hogging the channel. He sprayed us twice on purpose. Which really pissed me off since my Dad was with me.

Anyway, I knew there were some stumps right where bozo was flying by us. He obviously didn't understand the concept of the buoys being inaccurate on a windy day.

Sure enough, just as "bozo the PWC azzhole" came by for another pass to spray us again, he slammed into one of the stumps!! Haha!!

He looked like a cartoon as his PWC stopped and he flew about 50 feet beyond the stump like a rag doll! It was like God made a special effort to entertain us that day.

Anyway, while laughing my azz off.. I asked him if he was ok. He was po'd and screamed "Yeah! But my ride is messed up bad!"

I said "ok then" and left him there. I called for help on the cell phone of course but I didn't let him know that. We just giggled while he was freaking out about being left behind floating in his life vest.

It was a glorious day, caught some fish too.

Sounds like rendering aid to me! Serves him right for being an idiot....

had an idiot on Tawakoni yesterday trying to splash his daughters on the dock with the jetski. He would come in fast and then turn at the last minute... one time he didnt turn enough and the ski hit the dock witha loud bang. the girls were yelling, and for a second he wasnt visible. Almost made the choice to jump in, but he appeared from behind the jet ski. freaking idiots out there!! we finally left so they didnt ruin our day as they were getting closer to splashing us....

these were grown men in the thier late 40's, half bald.... i dont know whos little 12-13 year old girls they were... but it looked like a back-woods love story!

I have a quick success story,,,


Was anchored about 50 yards off a dock with my son quite a few years back, We had a ski boat and skiier (sp) that kept coming between us and the dock, I couldn't get the TX number and called the warden, he said he was on his way to our location but wanted the TX numbers. I told him I couldn't read them as they went by turns out they were to small and very close together. I knew they would disappear and leave me waiting for the GW by myself so I tied on a rattle trap and as the boat went by I casted the trap, when my line was rubbin on the ski rope the skiier saw this and very wisely let go.. LOL when the boat came back and stopped, waking me even worse I wouldn't let them pick up the kid and luckily we all only had to stay there for less then 2 minutes and the GW arrived. They got ticketed for running to close and reckless endangerment or something, not enough life jackets, TX numbers incorrect, and no mirror on the ski boat. It was very entertaining....

well, if it was an outboard motor you could have taken along an extra fishing pole with some old line on it and throw a top water plug in front of the boat and keep the reel in free spool and let his prop wrap all your fishing line around it then set the hook so to speak and break off your line. Then you can set back and watch them.
