I got a flat on my truck (2003 f150) coming back from Galveston yesterday. I changed the tire putting the spare on. This morning I went and got the flat fixed. Tried to put the spare back under the bed. However, the winch cable will not come down when turning the handle with the key on it. You can hear it turning but the cable is not going anywhere. Any ideas on whats wrong?

put some weight on it.. it wont come down freely without any wieght.

Tried that and it didn't work. Could just hear like a grinding sound inside it when I would turn it.

try tightening it and starting over. it may have wrapped back around inside before you put any weight on it. been there. they are a pain sometimes!
