I was looking at the TP&W website at the amount of fish stocked at a couple different lakes. I noticed nowhere did it say anything about crappie. I was wondering do they not stock these. In other words do they reproduce like rabbits or do they just not keep up with the numbers. there is something I dont know.

They reproduce like rabbits is what was told to me on a pond management class by Texas A&M University. They spawn several times a year.

SOME years that spawn like rabbits...other years they barely spawn at all, thats ia why is isnt recommended for ponds under 10 acres

That is the recomendation , but I have seen some monster crappie
come out of 2 acre ponds. You need some big bass or catfish
in there to prevent over population.

There is no 100% in ponds. if you have the money ,time, and knowledge, you can have almost anything in your pond.
