Wow, after a busy run and some computer problems. I am back to posting some reports. I will start posting weekly now that things have slowed down. The fishing here has been hot. The falling lake levels have really condensed the fish if you find one there are a lot more with it. The lake is aprox. 18ft low
and the grass is starting to come up really well in some areas and not in others. We have been averaging between 30 to 60+ fish days and most between 2-6lbs. Most of those fish are being caught on a 5" wacky-rig Yum Dinger and on windy days T-rig and C-rig Dingers. Superspooks and chuggers in the babybass
pattern have produced some great topwater action on cloudy days. The swimbait bite has been good on cloudy or windy days which we have had plenty of. We have been concentrating our efforts on main river ledges and creek bends that have at least 25ft in the channel. Colors have been kept simple to greens when the sun is out and smoke or junebug when the clouds are present. Here are a few pics from some recent trips ignore the date on the pic as they are wrong I do not know how to set the date on the camera! I understand fish not photography lol.

This father and son team found a few nice ones!

Here is another happy client!

This father enjoys his son's first bass

Here is a nice one I found

a young clients first T-rig bass

A happy client and yours truly

These clients found great reason to come back to Amistad!

This husband and wife team proved a family that fish together is a happy family!

And last but not least a 10.11 lb sweetheart I found a couple of days ago.

Hey cliff, message replied to. RaThEr_Be_FiShin, Thanks about the coment on honest fish, Some people really think you can catch big fish everyday, if it were that easy it would not be a big deal to cacth 8+lb fish and then where would the fun be in that!

Respectfully,

Good looking fish JC. I have yet to fish the "Blue" but hope to venture down this summer, maybe in August.

Thanks Revoman, If you can come in August we should still be punching grass for those big fish and I think that is one of the most exciting ways to catch them!

As always if I can be of any help to anybody planning a trip down to the big blue please feel free to give me a call on my cell I will answer any questiones from lodging to patterns to get you started or stop by and see me Fri-Sun at the Anglers Lodge Tackle Shop when I get off the water.

Did you say the grass will be matted up by August??
Man, it has been a while since its done that on Amistad. I remember back before the lake filled up catching monster flipping matted grass there.

What kind of techniques are best during this time of year? are the fish still shallow or are they finally starting tomove off in the deeper water?
