I finally got the chance to test the earplug bass bug on a local stock tank Friday mid-morning until noon. I am very pleased with this new plug, it holds up very well to bass repeatedly knocking the snot out of it.
The earplug foam does get wet but the fly continues to float just fine and the wet fly doesn't seem to affect cast-ability. The eyes stayed put showing that the super glue works extremely well on this kind of foam and doesn't need anything else to protect or cover the plug. Sharpie markers used to color the foam are a real time saver and work very well too.
