AH sucks for Crappie! Even if reports are good, they are still HARD to find! I think that lake is just pure luck if you line up on some crappie

I'm ready to see the old hot dry WTX again. I've been up here 10 days with my brother. My niece got married, and I flew up here with mom for a visit. Lot of dinky little trout, and I want CRAPPIE !

Well, since I am posting before 10:00 Friday night, you can guess you didn't miss much at AH. We got set up just in time for the thunderstorm to build & chase us to the dock. I admit to being a big chicken on the water when lightning bolts are hitting and you hear the thunder in seconds. Oh, well...maybe next week....

AH is 2800 acres or so, but it's long and fairly narrow. From the spillway to where it's truly "river", it's almost 10 miles by boat.

You seem to have my luck.One little popcorn fart of a storm in the whole west Texas and if Im fishing its going to hit there. Were working on a trip next Sat night,,keep ya posted.

Some day soon I intend on heading down there for a few hours in the afternoon (mid-week) to play around more than anything and mark some stuff on the GPS, get a little better feel for the lake, etc. Then I can go out @ night a little more comfortably. Workin' on gettin' some night lights installed on 'er right now though.

2800 that's like catchin fish in a pond and they take Share a Lunkers from that WOW I have a 13 lb bass in my bath tub i guess i will go ahead and donate it since gas is so high. How can you justify catchin fish from a pond and saying it is the same as catching fish from a 27,000 acre lake you actualy have to move to fish. Do you all ever hit each other in the head casting all the way across it????? No wonder all these medicre fishermen are flocking to it. BBWWAAAAAAHAHAhahahahahahahahaaaaa

Yeah RadTexan I don;t think any of my respectable fishin buddies are gonna drive 400 miles to fish a farm pond.We pride ourselves on knowledge and hard work and shy away from easy pickens like this but in a place where water is scares I am sure you guys are proud to have it.

I just don't see how a bass caught at Fork can be lowered into the same class as a stock tank catch.

I'm back in west Texas now. May be rain tonight, tomorrow, and Wed. Will be looking to the weekend. I have not been in over 6 weeks. Got a bad case of withdrawals. The lund will be on the water by Saturday.

Yeah, but I don't see how any west Texas stock tank krappy could possibly compare to one from east Texas....I think ours would have to taste better. Well, it's raining in Slaton as I send this. I hope it stays with us.

After the storms last night Im not sure if Im going to push it this weekend at all.still showing 30-40% tonight and tomorrow night.Let us know if you do !!!

You guys be careful! We're getting the storms that are coming over AH here in Snyder and they've been wicked. Lot's of wind damage, I would hate to think about being on the water when one of these storms came even close to the lake.

I agree Tony.If Im anchored up 8 miles from the ramp at night those storms seem to make a beeline for Henry..I'll try again next weekend

Beginning to think that way myself. Wind off these storms lately, and baseball and larger hail. Does not look good to go and get caught in that mess. Even though it has been 6 weeks since I wet a line in Henry.

Man...I wanna get in the upper lake for kitties so bad I can near taste it! Thought about trying tomorrow morning but I'm afraid I'd get out there and get run off by storms.
