Saturday morning I went by my favorite local pond to do some fishing. Early on I was getting some hits on wets and foam. Then it got brighter, the sun came out and I switched to a cap spider. In short order I landed the biggest bluegill (actual Lepomis macrochirus) ever, then a small bass and then lost the cap spider when something big and fast ripped up from the depths and tore the whole fly off along with half the tippet (Davy Knot held though, it's still in the pond on that fly in some fish's lip).
