Is there any lakes or creeks about 5-15mins from 161 and Mcarthur in irving, tx? If so, can i get directions? Thanx in advance for all the infos...i'm tired of driving 1hr 30min to denison dam for stripers...also gas is wayyyy too expensive now...just want to get back to the basics and have fun fish for species i started out catching when i was younger (BG, sunfish, etc...)...another question, has anybody ever fish BG with wax worm? i used it in ks and caught 3 or 4 on 1 wax worm...an amazing bait for BG in my opinion...

A lot of water in Irving. If you read Lovfldx posts you'll find a lot of them. Campion park is close to you if I know my roads. You willing to ignore a few residents only signs some amazing fishing ;-)

Regarding wax worms, I've been at the Lake Lewisville barge where that is the only thing that works... for crappie and sunfish. I have a poor man's substitute if there is such a thing as I have thousands of soldier fly larva in my compost bin. These look at lot like wax worms only a bit bigger. Was catching a few channels on them last week along with sunfish from 2 to 8 inches long.
