Crane fell

got out of hand with the namecalling.

i think this is going to be found equipment error
said a concrete bucket broke off

because i called my best friend a f^g

anyhow, i am sure it is operator error and i bet the wind might have had some play in it.

as a 30 hour OSHA certified professional, it will be interesting what happens.

i hate that things get deleted when we are only having fun

i built wood roller coasters for Dinn Coaster Corp for 4 years.
along with cellular experience 8 years.
i was on hand for 4 crane accidents & 3 of them were rigging errors.
i guarantee you that in NYC the accidents will be found to be caused by not bracing the tower of the crane correctly .
i have seen 2 cranes tump over before they ever made a pick. the outriggers were jacked up. they were set up buy guys with litle experience. the prima donna operators would not even get out & look at what was about to happen to them.
i bet i have been invoved in at least 2000 crane picks

i just think that there are lots of guys who don't have a clue, involved in major responsibilities now.

i will say that the pix i participated in were more complex than hauling concrete in a bucket.
that left more room for human error

I have a good friend that works for that particular GC. But not on that site. When I hear some good public info I will let you know. Sad though I called him last night about the crane accident down town. He said it was a block from him.

I am sure glad our crane is gone.

1 guy not tightening his bolt, not making sure something really snapped shut, or just plain dumb. that is the problem here.

I was in NYC the day after that big crane accident killed 7 or 9 people. Seems that they have found some crane inspector on the take. I guess some construction companies are more concerned with deadlines than safety imangine that.
