Is anyone out there catching any else beside gafftops. I was out in the port a ship channel today and that seemed to be all that was out there. I sure wish the water offshore would start to settle down.

No they were gafftops and I brought back 4 of em. But I would have rather had some nice trout and redfish. However I have heard that they are a pain in the butt to clean. Ill find out tomorrow.
Once you make it past the slime they are pretty good eating! Especially compared to hardheads! Throw them on ice for a while it helps fight the slime.

Gafftops often run with Specs and Reds in the bays....or run just behind them when feeding. Sometimes moving your drift will put into the nearby Specs.
Wow did not know that they follow the trout. A fellow co worker is telling me the same that gafftop are excellent eating just that cleaning is not as easy.
