This year, Texas will have Two Venues:
Emma Long Metropolitan Park on Lake Austin (Social)
and
Lake Whitney (Competitive)

The Date is June 28th
Times are TBA and will be finalized this week.
(It is a 10 hour event, and the Venue Coordinator will choose which hours to fish.)

I will be hosting the Event at Emma Long. I plan on getting there Wednesday the 25th to get set up. Every Year has been a blast down there, and I plan on having the same fun this year! Anglers at this event will compete with other Emma Long Anglers for Trophies and prizes.

Scott Townson(Brewboy the Carp Celebrity)will be hosting the Competitive event at Lake Whitney. He has prefished a few swims and will be announcing the exact location this week. Anglers at this venue will be competing against each other as well as anglerts at venues across the US, Mexico, and Canada. We have chosen this lake because we feel that it gives us the best chance of winning and providing non-stop action for those that choose to participate here.

The competitive event will be held at Lake Whitney on
Saturday June the 28th.

Arrive on Saturday morning for social time. Chili Dogs, Potato Salad, Refreshments (BYO).

Peg draw at Noon. Start fishing. Fish start counting at 2:00 pm competition ending at Midnight. Continue fishing or sleep it off then head back on Sunday.

My hope is for every single angler to record 20 fish during the event.

I'm leaning toward holding it at Plowman Creek Park vs the State park due to available shade to get us through the afternoon hours even though the grade of fish may be smaller. I'm doing a 24 hour secession there this weekend to see what I can pull from this location. Finalizing the swim on Monday.

I will not be competing on the local level but rather only counting my weight toward total event weight. I encourage anyone and everyone to attend. Even guests/non-CAG members. I will teach and help in any way I can throughout the event. Please come.
