My video tells the story, an epic trip. Went solo as everyone else was at work I guess. I had the time of my life. I call it Tred Barta style, solo doing all the work alone.

By the way I left the boat down there so future trips this summer will be easier and use much less diesel in the truck not having to pull that tank of a boat Triton.

From time to time I post asking for crew and to share a trip. My problem has been that I often make a decision at the last minute due to weather windows and most people have made other plans. It gets easier in the summer because you have mainly good weather

How to set camera like yours? I like the idea of setting the camera fixed to capture the cockpit action but don't know where to get the required tool. I am from Dallas too and having my boat stored at BHYC.. Do you ever fish the near shore spot called "Southeast Lump" before? Plan to fish there 1st time this trip but don't know if it can produce anything.

Doug, my camera is a normal digital camera, Sony Cybershot 8 MP, The reason I bought Sony is that the reviews said Sony has the best video clip feature. Turns out they were right. I bought my tripod at REi on LBJ freeway in the backpack section, I paid like $12 for it. It is universal and has velcro straps to attach to almost anything.
Don't buy an expensive tripod it is not necessary. Then when I get a fish on I sneak over to the camera, push the shutter button and start filming. Then after I land the fish I run over to the camera and turn it off.
After I get home I download all the clips in Windows Movie Maker,assemble the ones I want in the movie, add the titles and credits and overlays and soundtrack if I want and trim off/edit the portions where I am running back and forth to the camera at the beginning and end of each clip.
I do it for me. 10-15 years from now I will be glad i took the time to document my fun.
When are you going to the lump?
