Fished Lake Lavon at Brockdale Park. Strong breeze did not sway the fishing. Yellow Bass were congregating off the point and were readily taken using a bottom rig and earthworms for bait. Caught and released about 20 Yellow Bass. Did observe another group taking White Bass on Shad. Video posted in the link below.

Tried Lake Lavon's Brockdale Park again. Fished the point this afternoon and caught a Catfish on live Shad and Yellow Bass on Earthworms. Catfish went 15" in size; Yellow Bass ranged from 5"-7" in size. Pictures posted in the link below.

Fished Bethany Creek Pond - a neighborhood pond just east of Bethany Lakes along Shadow Lakes Road in Allen.

Caught a number of Sunfish and Bluegill ranging from 4" to 7.5" in size. Caught and released over 20 fish. Video posted in the link below.

Fished a feeder creek in the city of Plano. Creek is located at Spring Creek and Old Orchard Road and accessed from Custer Road. A running trail runs alongside it and is close to the Public Library on Custer Road.

Caught two Sunfish of which one went 8.5" in size. Also, observed Bass and a Crappie in the creek. Video posted in the link below.

Fished Celebration Park's North Pond this afternoon. Caught small Bluegill and Sunfish along the concrete wall near the picnic area. Video posted in the link below.

fishin84 You can turn left off Custer south of Spring Creek at the library. Country Place Dr go east to big Lake Park. Lots of fishing spots there. Fly and other wise. Ps that creek is called Spring Creek. Terry R.

Went yesterday afternoon to fish one of the feeder creek ponds at Shadow Lakes. Pond is just south of McDermott Road on the east side of Allen. Caught one 8.5" Sunfish and lost a few others. Too slow in setting the hook, else they were catchable. Video posted in the link below.

Fished Bethany Lakes' Main Pond yesterday. Caught one Bluegill on a Red and White Streamer. Think the recent rains changed the pattern and slowed the fishing activity.

Today, fished Spring Creek in Plano just off of Chisum Trail. Caught a Sunfish and several Bluegill-like fish on a Prince Nymph Fly.

Fished Bethany Lakes' Main Pond. Caught four fish in the morning - a small Bluegill, a larger Bluegill, a 14" Bass, and a 13" Bass. Another fisherman caught a Catfish on a wacky-rigged lizard in green. Came back in the evening and caught an 8.5" Bass with a number of missed strikes. Video posted in the link below.

Fished at the pond behind the Davis Library in Plano this morning. Caught 5 bass in a little over an hour.

Quick updates from this weekend's activities. Fished Bethany Lakes Saturday morning, a creek in Plano in the afternoon, and then fished Lake Lavon Sunday afternoon.

Bethany Lakes produced two fish - a Sunfish and a Bluegill. A lot of activity, just could not connect. Used flyfishing gear and a Brown Nymph and Gangle-Legged Fly.

The creek in Plano is located near John Carpenter Park west of Independence and San Simeon. Caught three fish working the banks and brush piles. Used flyfishing gear and a Brown Nymph.

Lake Lavon at Brockdale Park produced 5 keeper-sized White Bass ranging in 12" to 14" in size. Also, caught and released 5 Yellow Bass and over 30 White Bass. All were caught trolling with 1/8oz White Crappie Jigs and Roadrunners.

My grandkids and I fished the Colleyville nature park ponds this weekend. For them, it was the first time they actually did the fishing versus having me cast/retrieve for them. The bluegills were biting every cast on earthworms. The two kids brought in 10 and missed 2-3x that.

FYI - Although it was not a community lake and did not fish from the bank, went to Lake Lavon at Brockdale Park.

Caught 9 Keeper White Bass. Also, caught and released 1 Yellow Bass, 1 Crappie, and over 30+ small White Bass. All were caught trolling with 1/16oz White Crappie Jigs.

Did see several folks long casting off the point to the right of the boat ramp (as you face the lake). Observed several fish taken using live Shad for bait.

Fished Allen Station Creek downstream from the Allen Station Dam. Caught one small Sunfish and lost two others. Used flyfishing gear and a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph.

Opted to fish from a kayak today and headed to Lake Lavon's Brockdale Park this evening for a quick try at the White Bass.

Fished Brockdale Park again this morning for a couple of hours using a kayak and trolling a White Crappie Jig and a variant of one. Posted picture of jigs used in the link below.

Did observe several fishermen on the bank getting strikes using shad. Not sure how many were caught but it looked like the action was steady.

Decided to head for Lake Lavon again today to take advantage of the holiday weekend. Fished Brockdale Park just off the point. Trolled for White Bass catching 7 Keepers. Observed others fishing from the shore taking White Bass and Catfish using live shad. Action was slow but steady. Pictures posted in the link below.

Fished Erwin Park Pond in the city of Mckinney this evening. Caught 6 small Bass ranging in 7.5" to 8" in size and a 8" Bluegill. Quick trip lasted about 45" but more strikes than hook-ups occured. View of the park's pond and pictures of today's catch are posted in the link below.
