What is your method? I usually use the Hellpet, but looking to switch. I fight the hellbender more than the fish. Thanks, Karl

Another option for trolling would be the Jet Diver, with a gold spoon..... Academy is one of the few places to find the Jet Diver, it comes in different models specific to depths you want to troll at, works really well, fairly accurate in getting to the right depth.

I have one of the jet divers and never had much luck with getting it to run right. I cant stand the Hellpet but alot of people here swear by them. On th DD's find out about what depth you will be running at and choose between a DD14 or DD22(DD14 doesnt run as deep) You may have to fine tune the lure by SLIGHTY bending the eye where you tie you line to--either right or left to get it to run true.

Usually use the Bomber 7/8oz slab. Almost any color works. Starting to use the "mouse" alot these days. You can them here from nogeese or rookie007. Just look for a post by either of those guys and send them a PM. They look like a Humdinger, only smaller and their hook doesn't get caught up in the blade.

I gotta few.
Roadrunner, duh lol, especially for bank fishing, followed by rattletraps, humdingers, and various slabs, also, Roostertails.

In a boat, in the summer, deep water, ANY slab that DTA hands me and says "here, tie this on!"
From the bank, the one and only RoosterTail!
Close second would be the TriColor Tube Jig, on an UNPAINTED jig head.

Go to Southwestern Parts in Dallas on Mockingbird near Irving Blvd. They sell a Hopkins spoon imitation that will catch fish when NOTHING else will. They look kind of cheap (which they are) compared to the actual Hopkins but those boys will catch fish 5 to 1 better than the original. The old timers at Cedar Creek swear by 'em.
