Had a chance to do a little fishing on Sat...felt like I had a decent beginner session.

7# common

7.5# common

1.5# drum

...and tied my record for a 13# grasser:

Also caught a tiny perch, tiny crappie, 2 small bass, 2 small channel cats, and a turtle. (the turtle was not on purpose)

QUESTION: What does everyone usually do when they catch a turtle? Do most people end up having to cut the line? Is there anything you can do to prevent turtles from eating your bait?

I'm thinking perhaps there is a small metal rod one could stick in the water that emits anti turtle sonic waves...similar to a sonic pest repellant...(hmmm...business idea?)

I would call it more something like: FF (fishing fever), or AA (Angling Addiction). smile

Yep...I'm definitely hooked.

Hair rigs tend to help with the turtles, as long as they are not fishing aggresively.

At Fork I was able to get my hook back from all but one turtle, which got hooked in the neck and I didn't want to make it worse.
