How about a bare treble hook. My friend lost his cap in the high wind and we were casting out to snag it and I hooked a 61 pound yellow cat. What was even more weird was he was hooked right in the mouth like he struck at it. Biggest fish I have ever caught. Took me 1 hour to get him in. It was alot of fun though. - Charles


I have caught plenty on bare silver colored hooks on trotlines. I ran out of bait one night and left the whole string bare. By morning we had a nice mess of channel cats. Not sure if it was the flash of the hooks or the smell of being baited earlier that day.
