Nice pics! My youngest daughter, about to turn 30, gave me a framed picture of her, comprised of 2 pictures. The first photo was her first fish when she was 4 years old. The other picture was taken when she was grown and holding a nice 3 pounder. I treasure that picture today. She just had her first child, a boy, and I'm looking forward to the day I can take him fishing.

BTW, not to nit-pic or be critical, but I suggest you invest in a pfd that fits the 5 year old better. It looks too big for him, and he might slip out of it if he went overboard. When he outgrows it, the younger one will be ready for it.

man I know exactly what you mean, My son is now 7 months old, I bought an infant life vest, I CANT WAIT to take him out with me!

Just got my first boat. It is a hand me down fixer upper, but after 2 weeks of working on it when I can, she is sea worthy. I am hoping to take both my kids and wife out this Sunday. My daughter has been bank fishing with me since she was 3 (now 6). And my son has been since 2 (now3). They wear life jackets anytime we go near water. They also love to play with nightcrawlers and pulling perch out. We recently got mommy to go with us and it is now going to be a great family outing hopefully weekly. I think that any age if fine with the kids as long as you put their interests first.

And lots of good sun screen.

It's also important that you wear a life jacket too when out with your small child, not just for your safety but their's as well. Good luck!

theres nothing wrong with taking them out. i have 3 kiddos and ones 4,2, and 6 months. the youngest hasnt been yet. But my 2yr and 4 yr old go all the time and have been since they were 1.

Just remember the biggest thing about taking them is to always watch them. when i take mine out its a day on the lake for them not me. I dont concentrate on fishing so much as i do being a perch jockey.

And since they love being in the boat so much it make me want to take them all the time. My 4 year old just asked to go bass fishing with me last week for the first time for "real" i was proud of him when he got up at 4 am and made it all day with me fishing his little heart out.
