When we lived in Arlington, I had a goldfish pond in my backyard for a few years (rubber liner type). I bought a couple of them every year. The problem was that when the water temps got in the low 50's it killed them, but during the summer it was a great non-chemical way to control the algae. thumb

Ugly fish! We have one in our aquarium. I didn't know they were in any of the lakes though.

I've seen them before in the shallows on Algae. When do you shoot them? At night?

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

I bought one from the pet shop once, a couple of hours later
he was the only fish left in the tank, then he turned into a flying fish, flew clean over my backyard fence.

We have one about 8" in our tank. Took 3 yrs to get that big. Those suckers are armored!

Like mentioned before, if legal a fish shop would pay good money for a big one
