I am going camping on Lake Fork soon and have never fished there before and I do not have a boat. It would be really great if someone could point me in the right direction of a good spot to fish from the bank. I prefer to fish for catfish, crappie, perch, or sunfish.

The catfish should be chasing the shad up shallow pretty quick.

most all the land around fork is private property, theres a park on fm 154 and some of the marinas might let you fish, but i'd make sure i had permission first...good luck

I have been bank fishing for 13yrs here on Fork.If you are going to camp-out try Oak Ridge. As far as Just fishing the 154 free ramp next to a mobile home park is some of the best shore-line for all kinds of fish. Also the Minnow Bucket has a nice fishing dock--just ask inside first.

Can you tell me what that park is close to, which town? I haven't been that way in a long time. The marina I fished at had turtles really bad going after my bait...lol...I caught a dang turtle, no fish. I also went and fished down below a bridge there...make sure you take your fishing license with ya. I had a GW come all the way down there, just to check lil ol me out there with two of my dogs. They thought he was a bad man and were barking like crazy. I passed him my license, and he wasn't too happy with my dogs...they weren't trying to bite, but they let him know he wasn't welcome. It is weird cause they let tons of people on a dock fish around me. But out there all by myself they must of sensed something about him that they didn't like. Maybe he was scared of dogs, and they knew it. If so I am surprised he walked all the way down there. Nice to know they are enforcing the law though.... thumb
