I was just wondering if anyone has used or heard anything good or bad about the H2O Express, Method reels. I am considering giving them a try and just couldn't find any reviews or anything on them. Thanks.

Got a Mettle & Maraud last week and after fishing with them this week I really like them. Wife has been out of town all week so I have been able to really test them---lol.

What I like about them over other store brands is the Academy return policy. They will always exchange with you no questions asked. With that policy you don't need to be able to get parts.

They just don't give much info on them on their site. I'm trying to figure out what the difference in the Mettle and the Method is...besides $30.

I took the box for each of the 4 reels and compared them. Other than no. of bearings and the handles I could see no difference. What is unusual, the Mettle is the cheapest and has 10 bearings, think the highest has 10 and the other 2 have 6 and 8.

The clerk could give me no info. I can tell no difference in the Mettle & Maraud I have. Both very smooth.

It's because they don't say Remmington or Winchester. I'd be willing to bet they could tell you averything there is to know about bullet ballistics, etc... but reels, forget it. I stood at their counter for a good 15 minutes at the reel display, saw 3 other people get waited on at the gun display and I finally walked off.

That's pretty much why I was asking here and not there. They're not always the most helpful. Can't beat the selection or prices though.

one of the guys at the college station store said that he felt like they were getting ready to clearance the mettle because it was one of their first models. and that the method was their newest 10 BB model. I looked at both of them and other than color could'nt see any difference. the way I see it, is if I get more than a year out of them, I'm money ahead. I've been burned to many times on expensive pieces of junk.

Even if it last 1 year, I can always take it back and exchange or refund. Returned a Cruxis today that I had bought 09/2006 that was making a little noise. I had receipt and box, no questions, here is your cash back. So I don't worry too much when I get it at Academy.

i just bought a method and it seems really nice...I spent a lot of time comparing different reels, and couldn't tell a difference. I have to agree 100% that the guys behind the counter...although friendly, didn't know jack about their own reels. You'd think that if Academy really wanted to push their product, they'd make sure that their employees knew them front and back. Also on another note on the H20 crankbaits...they have started printing their diving depth on the boxes! Anyway, I sure do hope the reel works out...if I don't like it, sounds like I won't have a problem returning it!
